Drug Indications
Generic Protonix is primarily indicated to deal with corrosive acid reflux problem, which is also identified as corrosive GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). GERD is a state wherein acid of the stomach and, occasionally, bile (a digestive juice secreted by the liver) travel backward into the esophagus.
Various Drug Forms
Generic Protonix is supplied in the form of delayed-release pills and as an intravenous (IV) solution received within a vein. The IV variety is intended for short-range intervention of 7 to 10 days for individuals who are unable to take the drug by mouth. Generic Protonix pills must not be squashed or chewed, for the reason that the delayed release formula lets the medication to be absorbed by the small intestine that makes sure the receipt of utmost benefit.
